Rome Police arrested two individuals, Tyrin Lamar Ferguson, 33 of Acworth, and Haley Brianna Thompson, 27 of Rockmart, were arrested on various felony charges after a traffic stop on South Broad Street turned up numerous drugs.

Reports said that Ferguson was stopped for a traffic violation when he proceeded to flee on foot while speaking with police.

Police said that Ferguson fought with officers resulting in him being physically subdued.

Officers went on to say that Ferguson was found to have allegedly been driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

A search of the car then resulted in police allegedly finding multiple packages of cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, Adderall (all of which were not in their original containers), and an opened bottle of tequila. A straw containing cocaine residue was also allegedly found in the car.  

Ferguson is charged with 4 counts felony obstruction, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, two counts possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, three counts possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, drugs in original container, open container, headlight violation, too fast for conditions, DUI and probation violation.

Thompson is charged with possession of cocaine, two counts possession of a schedule II controlled substance, two counts possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession cocaine, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, drugs not in original container, and open container.
