Curtis William Womack, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he caused the death of James Jordan Mitchell last weekend.
Police said that Womack was driving northbound on Highway 27 at Old Dalton Road when he conducted a left hand turn and used the turn lane as a merge lane and struck Mitchell, who was driving a motorcycle.
Womack is charged with 2nd degree vehicular homicide and driving in the central lane.
