Michael Shannon Boatfield, of Cartersville, was arrested this week after reports said he left his wife with visible injuries.
Reports said that Boatfield attempted to block the victim from exiting the home when he shoved her causing physical injuries to her arm.
While speaking with Boatfield, police said that he told them that she hit him first, however, officers did not notice any evidence of that taking place.
Boatfield was charged with simple battery.
