A 22 year-old Cartersville man, Jaquavious Jaquail Carter, who was jailed for a shooting earlier this year is now facing new charges.
Reports said that Sam Franklin Jr, 56 of Aragon, has now died following his shooting at the Park Homes apartments on Reservoir Street.
Carter is now charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Reports said that authorities found Franklin outside of the apartments while responding to 911 calls of a shooting.
Carter was originally arrested in July following another shooting. Reports said Cater stood in the sunroof of a car and discharged a firearm on East 14th Street. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm near a public road.
The latest charges came after months of investigating the case involving Franklin, which led to authorities linking Carter to being the gunman.
