Summerville Man Jailed for Hitting Woman in Rear then Fleeing Scene

Branden Scott Barnett, 29 of Summerville, was arrested for a hit and run that occurred on August 5^th in Floyd County.

Reports said that Barnett struck another vehicle in the rear while they were stopped at the intersection of Ga 1 and Ga 140.

The victim stated that after hitting her in the rear Barnett got out and spoke to her.  However, Barnett went back to his car and fled the scene.

Barnett is charged with hit and run and following too closely.
