Kelvin Dwight Wright, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he stole a catalytic converter from a 2004 Honda Accord on Heritage Way.
Reports added that the theft occurred back in May of this year.
Officers went on to say that they found Wright at a location on Maple Road when they questioned him. While speaking with officers, Wright is accused of giving police a fake name in order to avoid arrest.
Wright is charged with theft by taking, giving false information to police and failure to appear.
