Calhoun Police Department confirmed this week that Tomas Garcia Marquez Jr., 81, of Calhoun, was killed in a motorcycle wreck on Red Bud Road.
Reports said that a westbound Martinez lost control of his motorcycle and began to fishtail before crossing into oncoming traffic and being struck by an SUV.
Marquez then traveled onto the sidewalk and came to rest on an embankment right before Garden Heights Apartments, near the intersection with Highpoint Drive.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
