Amber LaDawn McMurray, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she bite a police officer on the hand while they were attempting to give her a speeding ticket.
Officers said that they stopped McMurray for driving 78 mph in a 55mph zone on Highway 101 near Rockmart Pard.
McMurray is then accused of refusing to sign the ticket and then exit the vehicle. She then proceeded to bite the officer’s hand causing it to bleed and swell.
The incident occurred in front of McMurray’s five year-old child.
McMurray is charged with battery, simple battery against a police officer, cruelty to children, obstruction, felony obstruction against a police officer and speeding.
