James Clyde Holmes, 71 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he entered a home on Porter Street and stole a washer and dryer.
Police added that the washer and dryer was later found in the back of a home on nearby Hardy Street.
Reports went on to say that Holmes went on to ignore officers and pulled away while being detained.
Holmes is charged with first degree burglary and obstruction.
