Rome Woman Jailed for Avoiding DFCS During Child Cruelty Investigation

Michelle Monaye Thompkins, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she avoid DFCS workers who were investigating a child cruelty case.

Reports said that Thompkins repeatedly failed to answer or return officer’s calls during the investigation. She is also accused of failing to show or produce the minor children that were in her custody, and are the victims in the case.

Thompkins is charged with obstruction.
