Lisa Virginia Thompson, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she failed to get medical attention for an animal suffering from a growing tumor.
Authorities added that the animal was suffering from serious bodily disfiguration which caused pain and suffering as a result of the tumor.
Thompson is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
