Eric Allen Stewart, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke a woman’s cellphone during a confrontation on Harrison Road.
Reports stated that Stewart grabbed the victim’s cellphone and threw it to the ground causing it to break.
The incident occurred in front of small children.
Officers added that when they arrived on scene, Stewart became combative by pulling away during his arrest.
Stewart is charged with criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree, two counts cruelty to children in the third degree and four counts obstruction.
