Just hours after being placed on the Floyd County “Most Wanted List” Mason Todd Edward, 27 of Aragon, was captured following a chase with police. Officers said that Todd fled a home on John’s Drive with a four wheeler. He proceeded to lead them on a chase along Martha Berry Highway and then GA 140 and onto Ward Valley Road before finding his way back to Martha Berry Highway. He eventually crashed into a dry creek bed where he was taken into custody.
Reports said that Edward has been on the run since October of last year after committing a variety of crimes around the area.
On October 4, 2022, Edward is accused of possessing Fentanyl while at a home on Harmony Road.
On February 22, he is accused of stealing a necklace from Diamond World in Mount Berry Mall. The sterling silver CZ necklace was valued at $600.
Then sometime between April 10 and 17th, Edward is accused of stealing a Suzuki GSX Hayabsa motorcycle. The motorcycle is valued at $18.599.
Todd is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, felony theft by shoplifting, theft by receiving stolen property, driving on wrong side of roadway, reckless driving, running a stop sign, DUI, and two counts probation violation.
