A 43 year-old Rome man, Jason Samuel Johnson, was killed in a single vehicle accident on Kingston Highway over the weekend.
According to reports, Johnson was northbound on GA 293 when he ran the redlight at the loop traveling at a high rate of speed before he crashed into the tree line.
According to Deputy Coroner John Hamilton, it appeared as if Johnson had undergone some type of medical emergency at the time of the crash.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
