The City of Rome Ethics Investigative Committee met in the City Commission Chambers this week to discuss the ethics complaint against City Commissioner Mark Cochran.
Attorney Chris Balch called the meeting to order at 10:35 a.m. The Investigating Committee, consisting of Bremen Mayor Sewell, Adairsville Mayor Carson, and Summerville Mayor Harvey was present. Also present was Commissioner Cochran, his legal counsel, some members of the public, and some City employees.
Bremen Mayor Sewell was chosen to serve as Chair of this Investigating Committee.
The Committee determined that at the next scheduled meeting, more information may be reviewed, and witnesses may be interviewed. Chris Balch and Jeremy T. Berry, attorney for Commissioner Cochran, are to collaborate on a list of possible witnesses to be interviewed.
The Committee tentatively determined that the next meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 16th in the City Commission Chambers of City Hall.
