The future of Peaches on Broad Street is up in the air after the Rome Alcohol Commission recommended this week that their liquor license be suspended for at least three months.

The motion was made after it was discovered that the bar had not met the 50/50 food-to-drink ratio.

The ACC says that the bar would have to reapply for its license following the three months suspension.

Owner Stephanie Shaw is quoted to say, ‘’It’s very difficult for me to be in charge of live entertainment and food…. It’s basically two concepts. I’m busy with the bands so I’ve turned the kitchen over to someone else. I have asked Natalie Woods who owns Jazzy Southern Cajun Cuisine and Hot Wings, Etc. to come and help me revamp my kitchen. She already has a menu.”

The good news for the bar is that the ACC is also recommending that the Rome City Commission consider amending the food-to-drink ratio to a lower ratio.

The recommendation will now got to the Rome City Commission for its May 9th meeting.
