Jason Eric Evans, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to run over a 59 year-old man before discharging a gun while standing next to a 51 year-old woman.

Police said that around 6:57, Evans stood behind the victim’s vehicle while firing a shot into the air.  This occurred at 2004 Shorter Avenue.

Then at 9:10, Evans is then accused of attempting to run over the male victim at a location on Johns Drive. He was later found to have been driving while intoxicated.

Evans is charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, discharging a firearm on property of another, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and DUI.
