An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Nathan Ernest Thompson, 63 of Rome is facing additional charges after he allegedly damaged the jail.

Reports said that Thompson damaged a video visit panel, flooded his cell and damaged his mattress.

He is now charged with felony counts of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and interference with government property.

Nathan Ernest Thompson, 62 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he damaged the front door to his mother’s home before throwing objects, and breaking them, at his brother.

Reports said that Thompson caused close to $400 in damages.

The incident occurred at a home on Woodward Street.

Thompson is charged with criminal trespass.
