Shahbaz Ahmad, 45 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he made contact with someone he thought to be a child online and engaged in sexual conversations.
Reports said that he was taken into custody at a location they agreed to meet up at and engage in sexual acts.
Ahmad is charged with child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child and the use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony.
