Rome Man Jailed for Beating Woman in Middle of Roadway

Chavish Darnelle Dargin, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a woman while straddling her in the middle of the street.

Police said that the incident, which occurred near the intersection of Flora Ave and Hawthorne Street, occurred just after 8 pm on April 10^th.

Reports added that Dargin got on top of the woman and repeatedly hit her in the face with his closed fist.

Dargin is charged with battery.
