Mrs. Betty Kay Lindsey, age 67, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Rome, Georgia on September 21, 1955, daughter of the late William David Hammonds and Virginia Lulabell Rodgers Hammonds. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roger Hammonds and Charles Wayne Hammonds. Betty retired from the Bartow County School System after 20 years of service at Adairsville Elementary School. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Veley; son, Larry Lindsey; father of her children, Dewayne Lindsey; grandchildren, Brittany Veley, Dannielle Veley, Briana Lindsey, and Braxton Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Gracie Ballard, Dylan Lindsey, Osem Lindsey, Bryson Lindsey and Brenleigh Lindsey; brothers and sisters, Lee Hammonds, Danny Hammonds, Brenda McClure, Syble Hammonds, and Scottie Hammonds; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 4:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Donald Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
