The Floyd County Schools (FCS) 2nd annual Middle Grades Math Competition was held Friday, April 21st at the FCS Central Office. With 18 fifth through seventh graders from each of the four Floyd County attendance areas, FCS was well represented by fantastic mathletes!

All four schools took home a trophy on Friday with these results:

  • 5th Grade: 2nd Place CMS, 1st Place MMS 
  • 6th Grade: 2nd Place MMS, 1st Place PMS
  • 7th Grade: 2nd Place AMS, 1st Place MMS
  • Overall: 1st Place MMS

Individual winners were also recognized for the highest scores on individual written tests.

  • 5th Grade: 2nd highest score- McKenzie Cordle from CMS, Highest score (a perfect score 25 out of 25)-  Cam Clayton from CMS
  • 6th Grade: 2nd highest score- Theodore Swanagan from MMS, Highest score- Daniel Wilson from PMS
  • 7th Grade: 2nd highest score- tie between Peyton Evans from CMS and Torin Hickman from PMS, Highest score- Toby Swanagan from MMS
