A 24 year-old inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Hunter Chase Hammitt, 24 of Kingston, is facing additional charges after reports said he was found with a shank.
Hammitt has been in jail in September of last year for theft.
Hammitt is now charged with felony possession of items prohibited by an inmate.
Hunter Chase Hammitt, 19 of Kingston, was jailed over the weekend after he allegedly hit a 32 year-old man in the nose, resulting in a visible cut with bleeding.
The victim’s nose was later determined to be broken, requiring surgery.
Police added that Hammit also used foul language outside the home resulting in a disruption of the community’s peace.
Hammitt is charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated battery.
