Justin Alan Carte, 35 of Cartersville, was arrested in Rome after reports said he engaged in online conversations of a sexual nature with someone he thought to be under the age of 16 years-old.
Reports added that he was taken into custody at an arranged location in Rome where the two were to meet and engage in sexual activity.
Police went on to say that he was found with a firearm while being taken into custody.
Carte is charged with aggravated child molestation, sexual exploitation of a child, use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and obscene internet contact with a child.
