James Davidson Shahan, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he assaulted his mother with a firearm during a dispute at a home on Cumberland Drive.
Reports said that Shahan pointed a gun away from the victim before firing three rounds while stating “take that bitc*”.
When police arrived, they said that they found a .22 caliber rifle and casings around the home.
Shahan is a convicted felon and can not legally be in possession of a firearm.
Shahan is charged with simple assault, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
