The Rome Police Department is investigating the shooting of a White Female 51 years of age of a Woodstock Georgia address. On March 4, 2023, approximately at 22:52 a shots fired call was reported outside a house located on Shadow Brook Drive Rome, Georgia.
A domestic altercation occurred between a male and the victim. The altercation then developed to include other members of the household and it resulted in the victim sustaining a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was pronounced deceased by the Coroner’s Office on the scene. The victim will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab awaiting an autopsy.
The incident is under investigation currently by the Rome Police Department to determine the cause for the altercation. Ellis Geoffery Marrs White Male 21 years of age of a Rome, Georgia address has been arrested for murder in connection with this shooting with other possible charges pending the investigation.
