Police arrested two brothers, Jimmy Lee Payne and Jerry Wayne Payne, both 50 and of Rome, after a physical altercation and name-calling incident between the men.
Reports said that Jerry punched Jimmy in the face and then proceeded to call his wife a “bit**”.
Jimmy then proceeded to grab Jerry by the neck and strangle him.
The incident occurred at a home on Waters Street.
Jimmy Payne is charged with aggravated assault.
Jerry Payne is charged with battery.
