The Coosa High School Eagles defeated the Pepperell Dragons in Lindale on Tuesday night by a score of 6-4.

Coosa started the game hot in the first inning after a long double by Pacey Smith resulted in a quick three runs for the Eagles.

Starting pitcher Andrew Earwood was credited with the win after tossing four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four.

Hayden McBurnett came in and finished the game tossing two and a third innings.

Layton Sanford took the loss for the Dragons giving up six runs on five hits over five an a third innings.

Cord Youngblood, Trent Cantrell, Pacey Smith, Colton McBurnett and Andrew Earwood each had a hit for the Eagles.

Hayden McBurnett led the Eagles with 2 RBIs on the night.

Coosa’s D was strong all night, they did not commit a single error in the field.

The Dragons tallied nine hits on the day but were never able to lead in the game.

Coosa improved to 4-3 in region play while the loss on Tuesday’s was Pepperell’s first on the year.
