According to Calhoun Police Chief Tony Pyle, the GBI has been called to investigate an officer involved shooting that occurred Thursday near the Battlefield Supply on Highway 41 North.
Reports said that a police officer was driving past the business when he noticed the front glass of the building had been busted out.
Pyle said that the officer called for backup and entered the building. It was then he located a man holding a firearm.
When backup arrived they continued to tried to convince the man, now identified as 21-year-old Daniel Tang of River Edge, New Jersey, into surrendering.
However, the man pointed a rifle at the officers, in which led to officers shooting the suspect.
The suspect has since died from his wounds.
