Olin Jackie Dotson Jr, 63 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shot at his nephew during a dispute on Bells Ferry Road.
Report said that Dotson fired his gun toward the ground and then pointed it toward the victim.
Officers added that Dotson confirmed to them during questioning that he did indeed fire the weapon.
Dotson is charged with aggravated assault.
