Rome Woman Jailed in Fatal Cedartown Hit and Run

Chasmine Miye’ Lowe, 24 of Rome, has been arrested and charged with the hit and run that killed 28 year-old Sharad Robinson.

Lowe is charged with felony counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, and hit and run resulting in serious injury or death.

She is also charged with misdemeanor failure to maintain lane and failure to report an accident resulting in injury, damage, or death.

Authorities have confirmed that a 28-year-old Floyd County man’s body was found Monday by the roadway after being struck by a vehicle on December 18th.

Reports said that the Polk County Police Department has requested the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team’s assistance with the investigation.

“After investigating the scene, it was determined that a pedestrian, Mr. Sharad Robinson, age 28, was walking southbound on the east shoulder of Ga. 1 towards Cedartown,” the report stated. “An unknown vehicle traveling northbound, traveled off the east shoulder of Ga. 1 and struck Mr. Robinson. After the impact, the vehicle continued northbound fleeing the scene.”
