Polk County Police said that they are not pursing charges in the shooting death of 42 year-old Mark Adam Griffin.
Reports said that an altercation on Esom Hill Road in Polk County resulted in Griffin being shot.
According to Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd said they are not filing any charges at this time pending a full investigation and getting results from the GBI crime lab after an autopsy.
Polk County Police confirmed that 42 year-old Mark Adam Griffin, of Cedartown, was killed in a shooting that occurred in the 2700 block of Esom Hill Road on Sunday.
Reports said that the altercation occurred around 4pm.
Police added that no arrest has yet to be made at this time, as their investigation is ongoing.
Authorities went on to say that the other subject in the shooting voluntarily called 911 and has been cooperating with investigators.
