Kalieb Miquan Barron, 25 of Columbus, was jailed in Rome this week after reports said he was found with drugs while an inmate at the Floyd County Prison.
Police said that Barron was found with 16 Hydrocodone pills after returning from work release.
Barron is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, items prohibited by an inmate and crossing the guard line with drugs.
