Brandon Hunter Settlemoir, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked another person and then an arresting police officer.

Reports said that on Saturday, Settlemoir caused visible harm to another person when he injured their left shoulder.

On Sunday, police said that while taking Settlemoir into custody he refused to place his hands behind his back.  He then proceeded to kick an officer while being placed in handcuffs.

A search of Settlemoir then resulted in officers locating suspected meth in his pocket.

Settlemoir is charged with battery, simple battery against a police officer, obstruction, felony obstruction of a police officer, possession of meth and probation violation.
