Demarco Keunte Fann, 26 of Clarkston, was jailed in Rome this week after reports said he sold rented equipment from the Home Depot.
Police said that Fann rented a Kubota excavator for a day but failed to return the tool. After numerous attempts to get Fann to return to tool it was later found in Wetumpka, Alabama. Authorities said that Fann sold the equipment on Facebook Marketplace for $8,000 at the Reid Apartment Complex in Tucker, Georgia.
Fann is charged with felony theft by conversion.
