A Rome High School student, De’Tavius Ray’mon Jones, 17, was jailed this week for a fight that he was involved in at the school.

Police said that the altercation began when Jones took a set of headphones belonging to a juvenile without permission.  When the juvenile tried to get his property back, Jones slapped him on the side of his head.  The slap caused the victim’s glasses to fall off and visible markings to appear on his face.

Jones then proceeded to pull the juvenile into a restroom where he assaulted him.

The victim suffered more visible injuries to his face and ribcage.

This incident occurred back on Tuesday August 30th.

Jones is charged with battery.
