A pedestrian was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle around 6:35 AM on Friday morning, according to reports. Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader confirmed that the pedestrian fatality happened in the vicinity of Dot Johnson Drive and Highway 27.
The name of the pedestrian was not immediately released by law enforcement, pending notification of next of kin.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
