Mary Cahterine Nails, 60 of Aragon, is facing numerous charges after reports said she tried to tamper with police evidence after being taken to jail for DUI.

Police said that Nails was originally taken into custody when she was found with marijuana and a schedule II controlled substance during a traffic stop near the intersection of Bailey and Abrams Road for DUI and speeding.

Officers added that after arriving at the jail, Nails is accused of trying to crush additional drugs with her foot. Nails is charged with DUI, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, crossing the guard line with drugs, driving without license in possession, failure to maintain lane, seat belt violation, too fast for conditions, felony tampering with evidence and obstruction of law enforcement.
