James Timothy Vasser, 56 of Rome,  was arrested this week after reports said he took drugs into the Floyd County Jail after he was originally arrested for meth possession.

Police said that Vasser was found with meth and a smoking pipe during a search at a location near the intersection of East 2nd and Merrell Avenues.

Authorities added that after arriving at the jail, he was found in possession of a drug item.
