Floyd County police arrested two men, Clinton Daniel West, 46, and Garrett Dwayne Ridge, 35, both of Rome, after a search warrant at a home on West Little Indian Trail led officers to find dead and dying animals as well as methamphetamine.
Police said that the actions of West caused the death of a lizard, and the neglect of a snake and three dogs caused the animals to be suffering.
Reports added that officers also found a large amount of methamphetamine, digital scales and plastic baggies.
Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
West is additionally charged with two counts cruelty to animals.
