For the fifth time over the last six years, the Floyd County Commission voted to lower its property millage rate.
Commissioners voted Tuesday to lower the rate by .26 mills citing that the rise in property values.
The rate, which was at 9.678 mills will help property owners see a decrease in their property taxes. The decrease will allow taxpayers to see a 2.7% decrease on their current bills.
For instance, for a home that is valued at $175,000 the owners will see a decrease of $46.
