Anthony Shane Ray, 43 of Temple, was arrested in Rome for drug trafficking after reports said he led police on a high-speed chase.
Police said that Ray was driving at a high rate of speed on the Armuchee Connector when he passed a police officer in a no-pass zone. Offices went on to say that when they attempted to stop the suspect, he fled at a high rate of speed.
After finally pulling over, Ray was found to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine that was packaged for distribution.
Ray is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, trafficking meth, obstruction, reckless driving, passing in a no-passing zone, and passing on the left.
