Rome Man Jailed After Beating Stepson in Head with Baseball Bat

James John Duncan Jr, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat his stepson over the head with a baseball bat.

Police said that the victim suffered a laceration and swelling to his head and forearm.

Officers added that when they arrived to his home, Duncan gave them a fake name in order to avoid arrest.

The attack occurred back on May 4^th at a home on Morrison Campground Road.

Duncan is charged with aggravated assault and giving false information to police.
