A 46 year-old homeless Rome man, Derek Finley Moreland was arrested this week after reports said he stole a book bag containing a pair of tennis shoes that was left on the back doorstep of a home.
Police said the shoes were left as permission from a local pastor.
Moreland is charged with theft of lost/mislaid property.
