Joseph Jacobs, 35 of Hiram, was arrested in Rome this week after he allegedly attempted to stab a 33 year-old man to death at the Fairbridge Inn and Suites.
Two witnesses told police that Jacobs and the victim got into a verbal altercation inside the motel room when Jacobs removed a large knife from a bookbag and repeatedly stabbed him.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injury.
Jacobs is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
