Gordon County authorities have arrested 26 year-old Bradley Tyler Posey, of LaFayette, following a shooting near the Calhoun Applebee’s on Highway 53.

Reports said that the events began when Posey rammed a GMC Sierra into a Dodge Journey while driving recklessly in the Applebee’s parking lot.

After leaving the scene, Posey then shot at another motorist, striking the man in the left arm, near the intersection of the Calhoun Outlet Mall.

Calhoun Police eventually spotted Posey’s pickup truck on Outlet Center Drive. After initially pulling over, Posey then fled the scene, which prompted a chase. A Gordon County Sheriff’s Deputy used his patrol car to cause the pickup to spin out on South Wall Street.

Authorities stated that they then saw Posey hold a shotgun to his own head.

Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and convinced Posey to turn himself in.

Posey is charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude, and driving with a suspended license.
