Thomas Lee Martin, 30 of Cartersville, was arrested in Rome after reports said he engaged in an online conversation of a sexual nature with someone he thought to be under the age of 16 years.
Reports said that Martin described sexual acts, including sodomy, he wished to perform with the child.
Police added that he drove from his home to a location in Floyd County to meet up with the child, and was taken into custody there.
Martin is charged with sexual exploitation of a child, obscene internet contact with a child and child molestation.
