Gregory Scott Bragg, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week on numerous charges including attempting to run over another person, burning their clothing and four-wheeler, all after filing a false allegation against his wife.
Reports said that Bragg was arrested this week after reports said he made a false report of a crime against his wife after allegedly being physically violent to her.
Reports added that Bragg grabbed the woman by the arm in a threatening manner before burning her belongings. He then allegedly proceeded to call the police and tell them that she hit him with a metal pipe. Officers later determined that the incident never happened.
He is also charged with hitting his bother in the mouth with a closed fist, causing his lip to split and bleed. Bragg then allegedly set fire to the victim’s clothing and four-wheeler.
While leaving the scene, which occurred on Cunningham Road, Bragg is also accused of attempting to run over the victim.
Bragg is charged with aggravated assault, arson, false report of a crime, two counts criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree, simple battery and battery.
