Charles Austin Harrell, 25 of Griffin, was jailed in Rome after reports said he conspired with two others to smuggle 34 ounces of tobacco inside the Floyd County Prison.
Reports said that the tobacco was left at the Rome Senior Center on Riverside Parkway in four bags to be picked up on work detail.
Harrell is charged with items prohibited by an inmate and conspiracy to commit a felony.
