Christopher Conrad Brewster, 52 of Rome, was arrested after police said he tossed a bag of meth from his car in an effort to hide the drugs from police.
Reports said that police were attempting to stop a vehicle for a seat belt violation when the driver accelerated and attempted to elude police.
During the chase, officers said that a bag (which was later found to have contained meth) was tossed out of the car window before finally pulling over.
A search also resulted in officers finding a glass smoking device and a bag of meth.
Brewster is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug related objects, abandonment of dangerous drugs, tampering with evidence and a seat belt violation.
